6. On receipt of the flowers, the client, therefore, has given consent to allow Lancaster Flower Press to create a floral preservation order using Lancaster Flower Press’s expert knowledge and discretion based on the flowers provided. It is at the designer’s discretion as to which flowers and foliage they deem most suitable for the client’s frame decision.
7. Due to GDPR Lancaster Flower Press will not advise any detail on any order without an order number and confirmation of the client’s full name and address.
8. All flowers that are accepted into Lancaster Flower Press become the property of Lancaster Flower Press until all fees applicable are paid.
9. By sending images to Lancaster Flower Press, the client gives consent for Lancaster Flower Press to use these in their social and advertising campaigns.
10. All images used on Lancaster Flower Press are Lancaster Flower Press property. Lancaster Flower Press does not permit these to be used elsewhere.
11. Lancaster Flower Press can withdraw, refuse or cancel any orders at any time.
12. If the order has been placed by a third party on behalf of the original owner of the flowers, it is the responsibility of the third party to make the original owner of the flowers aware of these terms and conditions.
Shipping
13. If you are local you can drop off your bouquet at my studio. I accept bouquet drop-offs Monday-Friday, please contact me to arrange a time around a week beforehand. Only drop off your flowers when it has been pre-agreed with me and ensure you bring a note with your full name and deposit invoice number.
14. If you are posting your bouquet then I recommend that you use Royal Mail Special Next Day service by 1 pm to send your bouquet to me. This will help to reduce the amount of time the flowers spend in transit and therefore how long they are out of water.
15. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the flowers arrive at Lancaster Flower Press in the best possible condition. Packing instructions will be provided & should be followed exactly for best results. I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your flowers whilst they are in transit via any Third Party.
16. Your flowers must arrive with me within 4 days of your wedding date. If they arrive after this date I may not be able to press them and I cannot guarantee I can complete your order.
17. If you forget to send me your flowers, you will not get your deposit back due to us allocating your bouquet a time slot and possibly turning other brides down.
18. Following receipt of the clients’ flowers to the Lancaster Flower Press studio, any packaging will be recycled, where possible. Lancaster Flower Press cannot return any items.
19. The buyer is responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information (ie. address and delivery instructions) at the time of order placement. Lancaster Flower Press accepts no responsibility for additional fees incurred from an undelivered package due to incorrect address or delivery instructions provided at the time of order placement.
20. You can collect your finished items during my working hours Monday-Friday, please inform me when you receive your final update and photos of the items that you would like to collect and I can arrange a time. Items must be collected within 7 working days of your final update otherwise they will be posted. Due to storage space, I can’t keep items longer than this. Postage costs are only refunded after your items have been collected.
Cancelations & Refunds
21. If the date of your wedding has been changed, I’m happy to reschedule at no extra charge.
22. If your event has been cancelled, I am unable to refund your deposit.
23. Flower preservation services are for UK customers only – a refund cannot be given if you have booked in error.
24. All work is non-refundable as it is personal to you. If you are not satisfied with your order please do contact me as soon as you receive your order and I will see what can be done to rectify your issue. No refund will be offered as each item is created on a bespoke basis. If you’re not satisfied with your order please email; hello@lancasterflowerpress.co.uk
25. If you decide not to go ahead with your order after paying your final invoice you will only receive a refund for 40% of your total order value back, excluding your deposit amount.
26. Lancaster Flower Press do not offer a warranty or guarantee on the life span of your items, but if correctly looked after they can last for many years.
27. In the event the client’s order is not received as expected Lancaster Flower Press will contact the courier and investigate. Lancaster Flower Press will provide a tracking number (if available) if the client wishes to track their order. This is not always possible depending on the courier being used. The return delivery of the client’s order is out of the control of Lancaster Flower Press once it has left the Lancaster Flower Press studio, however, I will do my best to resolve any issues & ensure the client receives the order as soon as possible. Any compensation paid by the courier will be paid to Lancaster Flower Press directly.
28. In the event a fulfilled order has been damaged during its journey back to the client, Lancaster Flower Press must be formally notified in writing within 1 day upon receipt. Lancaster Flower Press will then arrange for the order to be collected from the respective delivery address and a new order will be made (where possible) within an appropriate timescale. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. In the unlikely event of this, Lancaster Flower Press will rectify any damage within its capabilities.
29. In the unlikely event a client’s order is lost during its return journey to the client, Lancaster Flower Press will endeavour to replace the lost order using the remaining flowers which are held in my holding chambers and the claim will be pursued between Lancaster Flower Press and the respective courier. In this unlikely event, if no flowers remain from the client’s order Lancaster Flower Press will contact the client to discuss the next action. Claims can take up to six months to resolve. This is out of Lancaster Flower Press’s control and Lancaster Flower Press cannot take any responsibility for this.
30. Please note that damages do not include:
a. A change in the flowers’ colour, this happens naturally during the pressing process and is out of my control.
b. Small imperfections in the finish of the piece, this happens as the pieces are handmade and cannot be 100% perfect.
31. As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) my items fall under the category of goods which are exempt from refunds. These goods include perishable goods such as flowers and personalised goods such as my framed bouquet which are made to your specifications.
32. Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns on gift cards.
Design Layouts
33. Kindly note that I do not offer design layouts as I prefer to work in my own artistic style while taking into consideration the type of flowers and size of the frame/s chosen. As an artist, I have my own creative process and approach to designing your floral pieces. I will always reconfirm your order once your flowers have been received and suggest alternative options if required. If you have a particular design in mind, please communicate this with me at the start of the process so I can see if I can accommodate this for you. If you would like mock-up designs, please note there is a fee of £25 per mock-up requested.
34. If for any reason I am unable to supply your chosen frame (e.g. due to supply issues) I will endeavour to replace it with the closest frame match possible or offer an alternative frame.
Payments
35. Following confirmation of your order, Lancaster Flower Press cannot reduce the client’s order i.e., if the client orders a large frame, this cannot be reduced to a medium frame. Lancaster Flower Press can only size up your order (if there are enough flowers to do so).
36. A £50 deposit is required to secure your wedding date which is redeemable against your final order and confirms you agree to my T&Cs.
37. Once your flowers have been delivered and I have started the pressing process I will send you your invoice. This needs to be paid within 30 days of the invoice date. This is the total balance minus the deposit paid, with the addition of P&P and Postage Kits (if applicable). By placing your order you are agreeing to pay the final balance 30 days after your bouquet has been delivered to Lancaster Flower Press.
38. If your invoice becomes overdue, after the 30-day timeframe you will receive two automated invoice reminders. I will follow up with a third reminder manually. The fourth communication will be a cancellation of your order, to let you know your flowers will be disposed of if payment has not been made.
39. I understand that circumstances can sometimes delay payments, but I must adhere to my terms and protect my business’s financial stability. The expenses involved in labour and sourcing the materials make it financially unviable for me to continue providing services without receiving compensation.
40. I will send your final invoice via email to the address provided at booking (so please ensure this is entered correctly)
41. Payments can be made securely via bank transfer (bank details will be on your invoice) and note that work will not commence until full payment is received.
Your Flowers and the Pressing Process
42. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the flowers arrive at Lancaster Flower Press in the best possible condition. Packing instructions will be provided & should be followed exactly for best results. I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your flowers whilst they are in transit via any Third Party.
43. Your flowers will be preserved in the condition they are in when they arrive at my studio, not in the condition they were in on your actual event date.
44. I do my best to use as many of your flowers as possible however please note that I may not use all of the flowers provided. I will use the best-preserved options only.
45. Some flowers will show signs of bruising, this is something that is out of my control and will only be visible once pressed. This can happen at any point, from the florist handling them to them being held on your day to them being in transit.
46. When you place your order, you are agreeing to the understanding that some flowers change colour and shape as they are pressed.
47. Some flowers press a lot better than others, if your arrangement is all one type of flower or you have concerns over their suitability feel free to message me to discuss them.
48. Flowers can change colour during the pressing process - this can depend on factors like the age of the flowers, if they've been sprayed with any chemicals, colour enhancement by the flower farm or florist and how they arrive at the Lancaster Flower Press studio- all these factors are out of Lancaster Flower Press’s control.
50. When pressed, not all flowers will retain their colour. Colour retention completely relies on the type of flower and the window of time between when they are CUT from the ground to when they are pressed. Due to me not being able to know the timeframe between being cut and pressed I cannot predict how they will hold up being pressed. For this reason, wedding bouquets are not able to be pressed if they arrive more than 4 days after the wedding.
51. Not all flowers can be pressed, and not all flowers press well. If you are unsure if your flowers are suitable please get in touch and I can discuss this with you.
53. Any Flowers that are pressed but not used in the frames will be returned to you in an envelope with your frame/s. I cannot guarantee that all flowers will be reconstructed.
54. The complete process for preserving your flowers should take approximately 6 - 7 months, from when your flowers are delivered, depending upon the time of year. Completion may be delayed if replacement flowers need to be sourced and preserved.
55. If you instruct me to replace any of your flowers, I am more than happy to purchase these on your behalf for which I will add a charge to your final invoice. The price will be approximately £40 depending upon the type of flower, quantity required and seasonal variations in the price of flowers. If the price is over 10% more than £40, I will get your agreement on the cost first. I will replace your flowers with the closest match available, however, I am unable to guarantee an exact match due to the variance of this natural product.
56. If you ask me not to replace any of your flowers, I understand and respect that for sentimental reasons you are happy for me to proceed with your original flowers only whatever their condition on arrival at my studio. I will gladly incorporate other items that are suitable in your display but this is at your risk and I cannot take any responsibility for their loss or damage.
57. Whilst at Lancaster Flower Press I will always do my utmost to preserve your flowers to the highest standard possible, I do not take responsibility for any poor results due to the age, condition, variety and colour of your flowers upon delivery to me.
Inclusions
58. If you would like to add any photos, invitations or other paper items to your pieces please mention this in your booking form.
59. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure these items are clearly packaged/labelled separately within the same box as your flowers as these can be easily missed.
60. I am not responsible if the above steps are not followed and your inclusions are missed.
Communications during the Process
61. Enquiries must be sent via email quoting your order number, I sometimes cannot accurately respond to enquiries on social media due to a high number of customers.
62. When you book your bouquet preservation you will receive an email with all the information you will require such as packing instructions along with the address to send your flowers.
63. I will also send you an email in the week leading up to your wedding date to check you are all set for posting your flowers.
64. You will then receive updates at the below stages:
a. When I receive your flowers in the post (please allow up to 48 hours for confirmation during busy times, please check your tracking yourself for peace of mind).
b. When your flowers are fully pressed and I can start your order.
c. When your flowers have been reconstructed
d. When your order is complete
e. When your item/s have been dispatched
65. If you do not hear anything from me between the above stages it’s simply because I do not have an update for you and I’m busy creating orders. I wish I could contact everyone individually but that’s just not always possible.
Processing Times
66. My processing time varies throughout the year, depending on the seasons. These may be extended around times such as Christmas (I take a 2-week break to spend time with family so please allow for this in calculating your processing time) and high peak wedding season.
67. I reserve the right to extend these beyond the time quoted at booking, I will not rush the preservation or framing process. Please bear this in mind when using my services for gifts. Do however please message me as early as you can if you would like certain items by a certain date and I will always do my best to accommodate.
Other Information
68. I cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of your flowers whilst in my care due to fire, storm, civil disorder, loss of electricity, flood, mechanical failure or any other event beyond my control. Please note that Lancaster Flower Press's liability is strictly limited to the amount of money that you have paid and no further compensation would be offered in these circumstances. Your flowers which are sent to me and preserved by me will remain my property until full payment for my services has been made. Your flowers will be dispatched once full payment has been received.
69. Please be aware that currently, I run all aspects of the business myself with no help. I am Lancaster Flower Press’s Photographer, Receptionist, Administrator, Accountant, Customer Service Operative, Finance Manager, Designer, Artist, Flower Presser and most importantly a wife and mum. These are all jobs that you don’t see via social media but are very much being done on a daily basis. I am hoping that in the future I will be able to hire someone to help but I’m just not at that stage yet. Amongst all the above steps please remember that I am a small business. I am not a big corporation, I am human and I make mistakes like everyone else.
