Flower Power: July’s Preservation Highlights
Introduction
July has been an up and down month here at Lancaster Flower Press. I’ve had more bouquets arrive this month than any other month this year and I now have over 250 followers on Instagram (which may not seem like a lot but for me that’s a huge achievement!). But my car broke down so progress has been slow on the workshop.
Bouquets Received
Like I said this month has been a busy one! Here are a few of the bouquets I’ve been asked to preserve:
Most have been dropped off at my home/workshop but I’ve even had one sent from Plymouth!
I think my standout bouquet of the month was Alison’s sunflower bouquet as it was a gorgeous, cascading bouquet full of sunflowers that were great fun to press.

Bouquets Sent Out
This month I sent a finished bouquet back to a happy couple. It was a beautiful white, wintery bouquet and it was a beauty! I loved doing this preservation. The different shades of white and cream kept the frame from looking too same-y. Isn’t it a stunner!

Behind the Scenes
Not much has progressed with the workshop - my car decided to break down so plans for the workshop have been on hold. But my lovely mum has just ordered a work bench for me (love you mum!) so that will be arriving in a few weeks time. I’m super excited!!
In August I’m wanting to finish painting the workshop, get the guttering bought and installed and hopefully get the workbench built.
In the meantime I’ve been continuing using my kitchen table and sitting room floor to do my pressing, reconstruction and framing.
Personal Highlights
My parents have been visiting from Spain which has been lovely! The kids have loved having their grandparents around (as have I!).
I have gotten back into doing my HIIT workouts with the Joe Wicks so its safe to say I’ve been a bit sore.
The summer holidays have started so I haven’t had to do school runs but I have had to entertain two children all day… so swings and roundabout I guess.
Plans for Next Month
August is the final month of the traditional wedding season so I’m expecting to be quite busy again. I do currently have some spaces left but they are filling up quickly. If you want to book in then contact me here:
I’ve got a friends wedding this month too. I’m really excited to see Julie and Jason as they have been living it up in Dubai for years now. I’m going to be pressing Julie’s bouquet after the wedding is part of our wedding gift to them.
I also have lots of bouquets that have nearly finished pressing so I’m going to be getting them from the press, reconstructing the flowers and framing the bouquets.
Finally I am going to be focusing on improving my Pinterest presence to help improve my SEO and website traffic.
Final Thoughts and Thank You
So thats July! It’s been great fun and I am really looking forward to August. Thank you to everyone who has send their bouquet to be preserved this month and those who have booked in with me in the next few months.
See you next month for my next Lancaster flower Press Update!
