How Long Does Bouquet Preservation Take? Timeline and Process

Preserving your bridal bouquet is a meticulous process that ensures your flowers remain beautiful and intact for years to come. The timeline for preservation can vary from artist to artist, but understanding the process can help you plan accordingly.

This post will cover the detailed steps involved when booking with Lancaster Flower Press, from preparing and shipping your bouquet to the final delivery of your framed artwork.

Preparing for Preservation

Email Instructions and Postage Kit

Before your wedding, I'll email you detailed instructions on how to pack your bouquet and keep it in tip-top condition throughout your big day.

If you purchase a Postage Kit, you will receive it 3-4 weeks before your wedding. This kit includes everything you need to safely send your bouquet to me.

Post-Wedding Shipment

Once your wedding day has passed, it’s crucial to send your bouquet to me within 3 days.

Use an express delivery service to ensure the bouquet arrives in the best possible condition. This prompt shipping helps maintain the freshness and quality of your flowers, which is essential for successful preservation.

Step-by-Step Preservation Process

1. Dismantling and Pressing (8-12 weeks)

Upon receiving your bouquet, I will carefully dismantle and begin pressing the flowers. This process is crucial as it involves removing all moisture from the flowers to prevent mold and decay.

The pressing stage can take anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the thickness and type of flowers. Ensuring all moisture is removed is vital for the longevity and beauty of the preserved flowers.

2. Reconstruction and Artwork Creation (2 - 4 Weeks)

Once the flowers are perfectly pressed, I will start the delicate process of reconstructing each bloom and creating your framed artwork.

This step involves meticulous attention to detail to ensure each flower is positioned beautifully. This phase can take several weeks, as I strive to capture the essence of your original bouquet, but may take longer when you book for the summer wedding season.

3. Final Delivery

After your artwork is complete, it will be carefully packaged and delivered to you.

The entire preservation process usually takes between 12 and 16 weeks from the time I receive your bouquet. However, it may take longer during the busy summer months.

Rest assured, I will keep you updated at every stage of the process to ensure you are informed and excited about the progress.

Preserving your bridal bouquet is a beautiful way to keep a piece of your wedding day with you forever.

While the process takes time, the result is a stunning piece of artwork that you can cherish for many years.

By following the preparation and shipping guidelines, you can help ensure your bouquet arrives in perfect condition for preservation.

If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

I’m here to help make the preservation process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, allowing you to relive the magic of your wedding day every time you see your preserved bouquet.
